Bio

RDC Athlete of the Week for Feb. 18, 2020

Kaylee Domoney had another magnificent weekend on the court for the Red Deer College Queens Volleyball team (19-3). Despite having the difficult task of facing the previously undefeated Briercrest College Clippers, the fourth-year libero was a difference maker. On Friday, the Queens did what no other team in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) had done before – defeat the Clippers. In the four set home victory (23-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-22), Kaylee was a steady influence on defence, contributing 11 digs and four assists, and earning the Collegiate Sports Medicine Queens Player-of-the-Game. Even though Briercrest College captured Saturday’s rematch in four sets (16-25, 25-23, 25-22 and 25-15), the Kinesiology General student had another strong game, totaling 12 digs and two assists. Kaylee ranks seventh in the league with 3.48 digs per set. The second place RDC Queens have already sealed a spot in the ACAC Championship Feb. 27-29 at Medicine Hat College.

Congratulations Kaylee!

RDC Athlete of the Week for Jan. 13, 2020

This past weekend, Kaylee Domoney had another strong outing for the Queens Volleyball team, breaking the previous career digs record (890) held by Krista Lougheed (2003-7). The all-star libero recorded 12 digs on Friday, setting a new Queens record with 896. She also added three assists in Friday’s three set sweep over the visiting Lethbridge College Kodiaks (25-16, 25-17 and 25-12). With consistent defensive play, the Kinesiology General student contributed five digs and two assists in another three set decision over the Kodiaks (25-15, 25-21 and 25-19) on Saturday afternoon. Kaylee is a key member of the Queens, providing a steady influence and accurate passing to help quickly transition the ball to offence. The talented fourth-year has played an integral role helping the RDC Queens (12-2) win their last 12 matches in a row. She also sits fifth in the league with 184 digs this season.

Congratulations Kaylee!
