Neufeldt inspires Queens past Kodiaks in Lethbridge

Lethbridge, AB - The RDC Queens didn't let an early one set deficit faze them (21-25). Rattling off three consecutive set wins, the Queens defeated the Lethbridge College Kodiaks (25-18, 25-15 and 25-13) in more convincing fashion as the match progressed. 

Calgary's Erin Neufeldt led the RDC offence with 13 kills. The five-foot-eight outside hitter added 10 digs, two aces and an assist.

Red Deer's Emma Holmes also hit double-digits in kills. Holmes, a second-year Bachelor of Kinesiology student, recorded 11 while tacking on 10 digs.

Setter Kelly Heinemann had 42 assists and libero Kaylee Domoney totaled 20 digs and two assists.

The Queens had nine stuff blocks. Brook Ure and Alexandria Greenshields finished with four each. The Kodiaks had five.

Five RDC serves found the floor. 

Accumulating 9 kills and three stuffs, Maile Funa was selected the Kodiaks' top player. 

The win was the Queens' seventh in a row.

On Saturday, the second place Queens (7-2) and Kodiaks (2-7) will compete at 1:00 p.m.
