Calgary, AB – Tessa Ross's first goal in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) was a timely one. In a tight game, the promising defender scored with a second remaining in the second period. Her tally turned out to be the eventual game-winner, helping the Queens defeat the Trojans 2-1.

About mid-way through the first period SAIT opened the scoring. On the power play, Brittany MacDonald pounced on a loose puck in front of Karlee Fetch and shoveled it past the fifth-year netminder.

The Queens started the middle frame with some jump and were eventually rewarded. After the visitors controlled the puck in their own zone, Ashley Sutherland passed to Sydnee Decorby cross-ice. The third-year defender sent a backhand out of the zone which connected with Camryn Wallan. Using her quickness, the Bachelor of Education Elementary student found herself in alone on Kaylin Schellenberg and roofed it over the blocker, tying the contest 1-1.

Then with a second left in the period, RDC took a lead. Neisha Germann sped up the left side, held up and spotted Tessa Ross at the top of the right circle. The first-year defender from Spirit River quickly released a shot that eluded Schellenberg's blocker. It was her first goal and third point.

SAIT tested Fetch 20 times in the final stanza, but couldn't convert. The RDC Queens earned a 2-1 road victory.

Queens Player-of-the-Game Karlee Fetch was outstanding again, stopping 32 out of 33 shots (0.970). Kaylin Schellenberg turned aside 23 attempts (0.920).
