Edmonton, AB - The Red Deer College Kings controlled the game early against the Concordia University Thunder on Friday evening. Striking within 11 seconds from the drop of the puck, the RDC Kings were eventually up 3-0 after 20 minutes and sealed a 5-1 road victory.
Kings' leading scorer Chase Thudium's three point night started quickly in Edmonton. After the all-star scored 11 seconds into the game, he added his second at 13:25. Then minutes later, captain Scott Ferguson beat Thunder goalkeeper Tanner McCorriston for a 3-0 edge.
Red Deer's Ross Heidt was the only player to hit the scoresheet in the middle stanza, pushing RDC ahead 4-0. Weyburn's Donovan Lumb and Sylvan Lake's Chase Thudium had the helpers.
Boedy Donald and Jacob Wozney set up Kyle Salaway 1:33 into the third, giving the visitors a 5-0 lead. Kings goaltender Arik Weersink, a Business Administration student, was solid in net (0.967) and was only beaten once, with a minute left by Concordia's Keegan Tiringer.

The Kings wrapped up an impressive 5-1 victory. In a balanced effort, 11 Kings picked up at least one point.
RDC outshot Concordia 38-30. Neither team capitalized on the power play.
