RDC Athlete of the Week for Nov. 20, 2017

To say that the goaltender of the RDC Queens, Tracie Kikuchi, is on a roll would be an understatement. This past Thursday against Olds College, the Kinesiology & Sport Studies student stopped all 26 shots for the shutout and played a huge role in the Queens’ 1-0 overtime victory. Kikuchi turned aside all 15 shots on Saturday in a 3-0 home win and earned her second weekend shutout. The student-athlete from Edmonton helped the RDC Queens sweep the weekend series over the Broncos, and it was Kikuchi’s third consecutive shutout. The third-year student-athlete sports the best save percentage (0.952) in Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Women’s Hockey.

RDC Athlete of the Week for Oct. 9, 2017

Tracie Kikuchi was outstanding for the RDC Queens this past weekend. The goaltender stopped 41-of-44 shots on Thursday against the MacEwan University Griffins. Despite a shootout loss, Kikuchi was instrumental in helping the Queens earn 1 point in the standings and the Kinesiology & Sport Studies student was named the player-of-the-game for RDC. On Friday in Edmonton, Kikuchi was strong once again and gave the Queens a chance to win. The student-athlete from Edmonton, turned aside 29-of-31 Griffins’ shots in a 2-1 loss. Over 2 games, Kikuchi stopped 70-of-75 shots which earned her a remarkable 0.933 save percentage.
