Prior to taking over the RDP program, Schulha was an assistant coach with the University of Alberta Golden Bears for the 2006-07 season.

Before turning to coaching, Schulha had a successful playing career, including winning three straight CCAA National Championships with the RDC Kings, as well as a CIS silver and a CIS Championship with the U of A Golden Bears. In the summer of 2005, he was a member of the Canadian National Team and represented Canada at the World University (FISU) Games in Turkey. He was lucky enough to return to the FISU Games in 2009 in Serbia, but this time as an assistant coach.

Coach Schulha believes strongly in creating an environment that promotes growth, responsibility, accountability and enjoyment. The team strives for excellence on the volleyball court but equally as important are the relationships that student-athletes develop during their time at RDP. He strongly believes that his Kings Volleyball players are better people upon leaving this institution and embarking on the next chapter of their lives.
