In the early goings of the first set, the two teams were going back and forth with another exchanging points but the Wolves would gain some momentum and go on a run that put them up five points. Head Coach Talbot Walton called a timeout after his team went down by five which sparked the Queens offence as they came out swinging scoring 13 consecutive points to go up 24-17 with help from outside-hitter Rachel Perry who served 12 in a row. The Queens would take the set 25-18 just moments later off a kill from outside-hitter Morgan Boisvert (Bachelor of Arts in Psychology).

After taking an early 11-4 lead, the Queens would continue their offensive ways into the second and take the set 25-12 with Perry earning her team's set-clinching point with a kill out of the right side.

It was a much closer third-set with the Wolves giving the Queens everything they got just to stay in the match and extend it to a fourth game. Nearing the end of the set, Northwestern would go on a three-point run to put them up 21-18 which led to a Queens timeout called by Walton. The Wolves would extend the match by taking the set 25-21.

The Wolves would continue their momentum into the fourth and jump out to a massive seven-point lead to open up the set. The Queens managed to erase this deficit and come back in the late stages of the set to defeat the Wolves 27-25 to take the match three sets to one.
