Saturday, the Red Deer College Kings travelled to Olds to face the Broncos once again. After a sweep on Friday the RDC Kings came away with the same result tonight and picked up 4-of-4 points in the ACAC standings.

The Kings opened with a 25-17 victory in the first set.

In the second set, the RDC Kings handily defeated the Broncos 25-6.

The third set was as close as Olds College would get (25-18) and the Kings swept the Broncos in 3 straight sets.

Kings Head Coach Aaron Schulha saw some inconsistencies tonight but was pleased with the middle set and improved blocking.

"We were up and down once again today but the team looked really solid in the second set which didn't happen Friday," said Schulha. "The team's blocking looked much better tonight."

The Head Coach liked the ability of his squad to stick together.

"The student-athletes did a great job this weekend of staying together," said Schulha. "They did a nice job of holding each other accountable."

Matthew Lofgren was named the Kings player-of-the-game. The Kamloops native finished with 10 kills and 1 block. Daimyn Biletsky also had a strong game for RDC and totalled 6 kills and 6 stuff blocks. Setter Ryan Beatson contributed 28 assists, 2 kills and 1 service ace. As a team, the Kings had 8 service aces, 35 kills and 14 digs.

With the victory the Red Deer College Kings have 24 points and remain in first place in the ACAC Men's Volleyball South Division.

The RDC Kings next play on the road against Ambrose University Friday, Jan. 13 at 8:00 p.m. In the second half of the home-and-home series, the Kings host the Lions 24 hours later at the RDC Main Gym.
