Kings come back in third period to defeat the Thunder

Edmonton, January 20, 2024 - The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings' offence shines yet again as they scored seven goals in their victory against a Concordia University Thunder team that came out to play on Saturday evening.

Unlike last night, the Thunder scored four goals in tonight's loss as they finally solved the Polytechnic's goaltending after being shut out 24 hours ago in Red Deer.

Despite being down 4-3 going into the third period, the Kings came back in the final 20 minutes and scored four unanswered goals to win their fourth consecutive game. This win also keeps their perfect record in 2024 intact.

Forward Jaxon Steele (Bachelor of Kinesiology) was awarded the player of the game with his two goal and one assist performance while his teammate Ryland McNinch (Bachelor of Education) picked up 3 assists in the win.

The Kings will be back in action next week for a two game set in Lac la Biche as they head out on the road to battle against the Portage College Voyageurs. The Friday game will start at 7 pm with the puck dropping on Saturday at 1 pm.
