Kings top 100 points, drop Broncos in Olds

Olds, AB - Six RDC Kings hit double-digits, including a 21 point performance from Jouvon Edison against his former team, and the Kings earned a convincing 104-73 road victory over the Olds College Broncos. 

The Kings dominated the first half, outscoring the home team 65-31. Over two quarters, six-foot-six forward Ramiro Martinez Quintanilla Jimenez stacked up 14 points, two rebounds, one steal and hit four-of-five from beyond the three-point arc.

Olds College won the third quarter (20-12), but RDC responded in the fourth (27-22). 

Edison added eight rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal, and was five-for-five from the free-throw line. Business Administration student Kevin Szymanek finished with 12 points. First-years Cole Wicker and Brett Hochhausen had 11 points each for RDC.

Anthony Harper (4) had seven points, four assists in 22 minutes

Red Deer's Spencer Klassen was the Kings Player-of-the-Game, finishing with 17 points, four assists and a game high four steals. Yallah Sumo was named the Broncos top performer, contributing a team high 16 points, to go with five rebounds and two assists.

Red Deer College held the advantage in several categories, including rebounds (36-27), steals (11-7) and blocks (4-1).

The Kings shot 80 per cent from the line and 54.4 per cent from the field. 

Lethbridge College (4-0) and SAIT (4-0) lead the south. The Kings (3-1) are next. 

On Friday, November 15, the RDC Kings (3-1) will entertain the Ambrose University Lions (2-3) at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre at 8:00 p.m.
