Queens topple Rattlers on the road

Medicine Hat, AB – A strong outing from middle Alexandria Greenshields helped the RDC Queens defeat the Rattlers in four sets (25-15, 29-27, 17-25 and 25-19).

The second-year student-athlete from Red Deer shared a game high 13 kills with Amber Stigter of the Rattlers.

Greenshields, a Bachelor of Education Science student, was strong at the net, recording five stuff blocks. She added five digs, two assists and finished with a 0.360 hitting percentage. Greenshields was also named the Queens top player.

Queens setter Emma Letkeman contributed 40 assists, six digs, two stuff blocks, one ace and one kill. Emma Holmes finished with 11 kills and McKenna Olson had eight.

Jade Van Dyke, a Bachelor of Science Nursing student, had two of the Queens' three service aces.

In an afternoon rematch, the Rattlers (4-5) will host the third place Queens (5-2) on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
