Red Deer Polytechnic Athlete of the Week for October 25, 2021
First-year Sofia Quinteros has been a consistent performer for the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens Soccer team all season and she extended that strong play into Calgary on Saturday. Despite the Queens dropping a 3-0 decision to the SAIT Trojans in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) South Division final, the talented midfielder made an impact once again. Quinteros displayed a relentless work ethic, moving the ball efficiently and closing the gaps quickly on SAIT’s ball carriers. For her outstanding effort against the Trojans, Quinteros was recognized as the Queens Player of the Game.
The Bachelor of Science Nursing student has become known as one of the best, young midfielders in the league.
Quinteros and the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens will host the Concordia University Thunder for ACAC bronze on Saturday, October 30 at 1 pm.
