Calgary, AB – The SAIT Trojans stopped the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings' winning streak at four.

The Trojans kept the Kings from fully finding their offensive rhythm, limiting the visitors to 26 points in the first half. SAIT eventually picked up an 89-58 decision. 

Kings Player of the Game Tyronn King had seven of his team high 18 points in the fourth quarter. He added seven rebounds over 32 minutes. 

Kevin Szymanek, a Bachelor of Business Administration General Management student, contributed 11 points and seven rebounds. Guilherme Lacerda Ferreira chipped in with six points and picked up eight of the Kings' 41 boards.

Benjamin (15)

Arlington's Antonio Benjamin added six points for the Polytechnic. 

Trojans Player of the Game Charlie Connor scored a game high 23 points. He had 12 of SAIT's 45 rebounds, along with five assists. Marcus Masters added 21 points for the home team. 

As a group, the Kings shot 30.6 per cent from the field, 58.3 per cent from the free throw line, and couldn't connect from three-point range.

The Trojans responded with 47.1, 62.5, and 34.8 per cent respectively.

The fourth seed Red Deer Polytechnic Kings (6-3) will host the second place SAIT Trojans (8-2) at 8 pm on Saturday, February 5.
