RDP Athletics Update (October 20, 2025)

This week the RDP Cross Country Running team will race at the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Cross Country Running Championships in Grande Prairie. The Queens Soccer team will vie for a medal at the ACAC Women's Soccer Championship. The Red Deer Polytechnic Queens Hockey team will play a pair of games against the NAIT Ooks. The Kings Hockey team will challenge the University of Alberta Augustana Vikings. The RDP Rodeo team will compete in Olds.

Cross Country Running

Kings and Queens | ACAC Championships | Northwestern Polytechnic | Saturday, October 25

The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings and Queens Cross Country Running teams will be in the hunt for medals at the ACAC Cross Country Running Championships in Grande Prairie.

Soccer

Queens | ACAC Championship | Lethbridge Polytechnic | October 24-26

The second place Red Deer Polytechnic Queens Soccer team (8-3-1) will compete at the ACAC Championship hosted by Lethbridge Polytechnic. The SAIT Trojans, RDP Queens, host Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks, Concordia University Thunder, NAIT Ooks and Keyano College Huskies will challenge for top spot.

On Friday, October 24, the Queens will play the Keyano College Huskies at 5:30 pm at Raymond Comet Stadium. The winner will face the Concordia University Thunder in the semi-finals on Saturday, October 25 at 3 pm.

Hockey

Queens at NAIT Ooks | Friday, October 24 | 6 pm

The third place RDP Queens Hockey team (3-2) will play the second seed NAIT Ooks (4-2) in Edmonton. Elizabeth Campbell, Queens goaltender, leads the league with a 0.50 goals-against average and 0.971 save percentage. 

Queens vs Ooks | Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre | Saturday, October 25 | 7 pm

The Red Deer Polytechnic Queens will face-off against the NAIT Ooks at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre.

Kings vs U of A Augustana | Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre | Friday, October 24 | 7 pm

The RDP Kings Hockey team (2-0) will host the University of Alberta Augustana Vikings (0-2). Nolan Doell, a fourth-year Kings forward, leads the league with four goals and five points.

Kings at U of A Augustana Vikings | Saturday, October 25 | 6 pm

The Kings and Vikings will wrap up their weekend series in Camrose.  

Rodeo

Queens | Olds College Fall Rodeo | October 25-26

The Red Deer Polytechnic Rodeo team will compete in Olds.
