Michael Schnare, Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) Indoor Track Head Coach, has been recognized for his impactful contributions to his team and sport. Schnare has been named the 2025 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Indoor Track Coach of the Year.

"I want to congratulate Michael on receiving this recognition," says Randy Stewart, Manager, Athletics and Student Life, Red Deer Polytechnic. "In his first year as coach of RDP's Indoor Track and Cross Country Running program, Michael has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to helping the Kings and Queens succeed in the classroom, during competition and as mentors in the community."

With guidance from coaches Michael and Jenna Schnare, the Red Deer Polytechnic Indoor Track team had an impressive campaign. At the recent ACAC Indoor Track Championships, the Queens won gold, which was their third consecutive title. The Kings solidified bronze in Edmonton.

In addition to the team medals, individual RDP student-athletes and relay teams earned three silver and four bronze medals. Sylvan Lake's Zoey Longman and Lacombe's Eiley Morrison, members of the Queens, were named to the ACAC Women's Indoor Track All-Conference team. These accolades reinforce the impact of the coaches and the strength of the RDP Indoor Track program.

The ACAC Indoor Track Awards were recognized at the 2025 ACAC Indoor Track Championships presented by Running Room. The championship event was held at the University of Alberta Pavilion from March 15-16.
