This Week in RDP Athletics

This week, the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Volleyball team will vie for its 14th national championship. The RDP Queens Hockey team will begin the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Women's Hockey Championship Final on the road. The Kings Hockey team will compete against the SAIT Trojans in the semi-finals. The Red Deer Polytechnic Dance team will host Crown Quest. The RDP Kings Futsal team will compete at the ACAC Men's Futsal Championship.

CCAA Men's Volleyball National Championship | Niverville, Manitoba | March 5-8
The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Volleyball team will face the host Providence Pilots in a quarter-final match at the 2025 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men's Volleyball National Championship on Wednesday, March 5 at 6 pm CST.
The result of the opening match will determine when the Kings play next.

Hockey
Queens at Lakeland College | ACAC Women's Hockey Championship | Friday, March 7 | 7 pm
The Red Deer Polytechnic Queens Hockey team will face-off against the Lakeland College Rustlers on the road in game one of the best-of-five ACAC Women's Hockey Championship Final. During the regular season, the Rustlers (23W- 2L-0 OTL-0 -SOL) finished first and the Queens (18W-6L-1 OTL-0 SOL) ranked third.
In the semi-finals, the Rustlers defeated the SAIT Trojans in two straight games. The RDP Queens downed the NAIT Ooks two games to one in the best-of-three semi-final.

The RDP Queens and Rustlers will meet in game two of the finals.
Queens at Lakeland College | ACAC Women's Hockey Championship | Sunday, March 9 | 3 pm
The Queens will challenge the Rustlers on the road in the third game of the series.

RDP Kings at SAIT Trojans | ACAC Men's Hockey Semi-finals | Friday, March 7 | 7 pm
The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Hockey team will play the SAIT Trojans in game one of the best-of-three semi-final.
As the second seed during the regular season, the Trojans (15W-6L-2 OTL-1 SOL) received a bye to the semi-finals. The third place Kings (13W-8L-1 OTL-2 SOL) defeated the sixth seed University of Alberta Augustana Vikings (10W-12L-2 OTL-0 SOL) two games to none in the quarter-finals.

The RDP Kings will host the Trojans in game two of the best-of-three semi-final.

If necessary, the Kings and Trojans will decide the series in Calgary.

RDP Dance | Crown Quest | RDP Arts Centre Main Stage Theatre | Saturday, March 8 | 12 pm
The Red Deer Polytechnic Dance team will host Crown Quest, its inaugural Intercollegiate Dance Showcase on March 8. This showcase will feature the RDP Dance team, University of Lethbridge Dance team and special guests.

ACAC Men's Futsal Championship | Lakeland College | March 7-9
The second place Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Futsal team (6-3-1) will open the ACAC Men's Futsal Championship against the NAIT Ooks (8-1-1) on Friday, March 7 at 10:30 am. The Ooks ranked first in the North Division.
At 3:30 pm, the Kings will play the host Lakeland College Rustlers (5-5) on Friday.
The Kings' next game will depend on their results from Friday.
