Aaron Schulha, Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) Kings Volleyball Head Coach, has been named the 2024/2025 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Men's Volleyball South Coach of the Year.

"I want to congratulate Aaron on receiving this award. He is dedicated to helping his student-athletes achieve success academically, athletically and as leaders in the community," says Randy Stewart, Manager, Athletics and Student Life, Red Deer Polytechnic. "Aaron has been instrumental in contributing to the historic legacy of the RDP Kings Volleyball program across Alberta and Canada."

This year, Schulha guided the RDP Kings Volleyball team (18-1) to first in the South Division. In 19 matches, the Kings won 56 sets and only dropped 13. The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings also earned the best record overall in ACAC Men's Volleyball and qualified for the playoffs.

As one of the elite coaches in the league and country, Schulha has led the RDP Kings to twelve ACAC medals (six gold, four silver and two bronze) and six Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) medals (three gold, two silver and one bronze).

Schulha has been acknowledged as ACAC Coach of the Year four previous times. He was recognized as CCAA Men's Volleyball Coach of the Year and also received the CCAA Coaching Excellence Award across all sports.

As a student-athlete, Schulha helped the RDP Kings Volleyball team capture three consecutive CCAA National Championships before joining the University of Alberta Golden Bears. At the U of A, he earned a U Sports Championship and silver medal.

The Kings Volleyball team has won a total of 13 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men's Volleyball National gold medals to lead the league. The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings have also won 20 ACAC Championships.

This prestigious award will be recognized at the 2025 ACAC Men's Volleyball Championship hosted by Lakeland College from February 20-22.
