Sept 19 Athlete of the week

Red Deer College Athletics is proud to announce our Boston Pizza Athletes of the Week. 

Women Jill Stewart – Cross-Country Running 

Hometown – Red Deer, AB 

Bachelor of Science (1st year) 

In her first year competing in ACAC Cross-Country Running, Jill Stewart already has some impressive results. At the Cross-Country Grand Prix #2 in Calgary Saturday, Sept. 17, Stewart achieved her personal best of 20:17, which placed her 3rd out of the women competitors. Stewart helped lead the Red Deer College women runners to a 1st place team finish on the weekend. 

Men Mark Ibbotson – Soccer 

Hometown – Three Hills, AB 

Bachelor of Education (4th year) 

Mark Ibbotson led the RDC Kings Soccer team to a 2-0 victory over the Lethbridge Kodiaks on Saturday. Ibbotson opened the scoring for the Kings, which turned out to be the game winning goal. He also added an assist on the second goal which added insurance. Ibbotson has shown strong work ethic and leadership in the early part of the soccer season.
