Jaxon Steele, RDP Kings Hockey

The Gutter RDP Athlete of the Week for March 25, 2024

Kings forward Jaxon Steele was a difference maker in game three of the best-of-five Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Men’s Hockey Championship against the Concordia University Thunder. With the game tied 2-2, Steele scored in double overtime to help the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Hockey team earn a 3-2 victory, defeat the Thunder three games to none and win an ACAC gold medal. The RDP Kings also won the 2023 Men’s Hockey ACAC Championship.

Steele, who is a Bachelor of Kinesiology student, was a key contributor during the Kings’ playoff run, totaling six points in five postseason games. He recorded three points in three games against the Thunder in the championship series. The third-year student-athlete also had three points in two games against the University of Alberta Augustana Vikings in the semi-finals.
