RDC Athlete of the Week for Nov. 13, 2018

On November 10, Jill Stewart (24:30) had a strong race at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Cross Country Running National Championships in Ontario. Over 6 km, the Red Deer runner finished 10th overall in a competitive field, leading the Queens to a national bronze medal in challenging running conditions. With the top 10 finish, the Occupational & Physical Therapist Assistant Diploma student received the honour of being named an All-Canadian. Jill has been one of the Queens' leaders this season and fittingly wrapped up her cross country running season with a national medal and recognition.

RDC Athlete of the Week for Oct. 29, 2018

Jill Stewart had another magnificent race at the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Cross Country Running Championships in Vermilion on October 27. Jill (24:23) played an integral role in providing leadership and helping the RDC Queens earn a team silver medal. The third-year student-athlete from Red Deer was the fastest member of the Queens, earning individual bronze on the 6 km course which helped her seal a spot on the All-Conference team. Along with her talent, Jill has a tremendous work ethic and commitment to continually improve. With the strong showing and silver medal at the ACAC championships, the RDC Queens qualified to compete at the 2018 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Cross Country Running National Championships at Seneca College’s King Campus, just north of Toronto on November 10.

RDC Athlete of the Week for Sept. 10, 2018

This past Saturday, Jill Stewart had a tremendous performance to kick off the 2018 – 19 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Cross Country Running season at Running Room Grand Prix #1. The third-year student-athlete impressively completed the 6 km race in top spot among ACAC female runners (24:33) and helped lead the Red Deer College Queens to a first place finish as a team. The talented Occupational & Physical Therapist Assistant Diploma student from Red Deer is one of the leaders on the Queens and consistently displays a strong work ethic as she strives to reach new personal bests.
