Athlete of the Week for March 5, 2018

Defenceman Kirsten Baumgardt played a key role for the RDC Queens in the opening two games of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Women’s Hockey finals against the MacEwan University Griffins this past weekend. The second-year defender worked hard and contributed at both ends of the ice as the Queens split the first two games in the best of five series. This past Thursday, the Kinesiology & Sport Studies student scored a goal for the Queens in a close 2-1 loss in Edmonton. While taking care of her defensive zone, the student-athlete from Innisfail contributed 1 assist and helped the RDC Queens shutout the Griffins 4-0 on home ice.
