Rattlers take match in four sets over Kings

Medicine Hat, AB - An energized Medicine Hat College Rattlers team captured the opening two sets and while the Kings tried to climb back into the match, the Rattlers picked up a four set home win (27-25, 25-17, 24-26 and 25-19).

Kings Player-of-the-Game Regan Fathers was RDC's main weapon, totaling an impressive 24 kills while adding five digs and one ace. Ben Holmes knocked down 12 kills and nine digs. Mark DeWit and Adam Turlejski had four kills each from the middle.

Thomas Wass and Ryan Beatson shared time in the setter position. Wass recorded 28 assists, 10 digs, two kills and a pair of stuff blocks. Beatson, a Bachelor of Arts student, added 16 assists, three digs and one stuff.

The Kings' serve finished with one ace and 14 errors. The Rattlers served up four aces and nine errors.

Rattlers' setter Nikola Sreckovic picked up the player-of-the-game honour, totaling 35 assists, nine digs, seven stuffs, one kill and one ace.

The second place Red Deer College Kings (14-5) will look to get back into the win column on Saturday afternoon as they compete against the Rattlers (10-9) at 3:00 p.m. in Medicine Hat.
