Calgary, AB – After the Kings captured an early lead, they didn't look back and capitalized on a well-executed offence from setter Thomas Wass en route to a three set sweep over the defending Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Men's Volleyball Champions, the SAIT Trojans (25 – 17, 26 – 24 and 25 – 22).

In the match, Wass spread the ball around effectively. Regan Fathers contributed 14 kills. Ben Holmes had 9. Jace Martin and Jonathan (JJ) Graham had 6 kills each.

Kings Volleyball Head Coach Aaron Schulha appreciated the work ethic and distribution of the ball. "It was a pretty solid effort all around," he says. "It was nice to get production and efficiency out of our outside hitters and not have to rely so heavily on our middles and Regan."

Setter Thomas Wass totaled 32 assists, 9 digs, 2 kills and 2 service aces, and was recognized as the Kings Player-of-the-Game. "I thought that Tom did a good job of getting everyone involved and speeding up our offence which has been a focal point this week," says Schulha. "He also put the Trojans in a lot of trouble with his serve."

Looking towards Saturday's rematch, Schulha would like to see the Kings' play elevate in a few areas. "I thought that our blocking and our serve-receive could have been much better so there is a lot of room for improvement," he says.

On Saturday at 8:00 p.m., the RDC Kings (2 – 3) will entertain the SAIT Trojans (3 – 3) at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre.
