RDC Athlete of the Week for Sept. 18, 2017

Against the Olds College Broncos on Saturday, Kings Soccer player Hugo Janssen was a force on the pitch. The midfielder from Lacombe created several quality scoring opportunities and with time winding down in a tied game, Janssen scored the game winning goal in dramatic fashion. The Open Studies student raced down the left side of the field, beat a defender and sent a high arcing shot past the goalkeeper and into the right side of the net for the winner. Janssen was also named the RDC Kings player-of-the-game and helped the Kings earn a victory in their home opener. On Sunday against SAIT, Janssen helped create opportunities for the Kings to score and displayed a strong work ethic despite a 2-0 setback against the Trojans. Janssen was once again a positive factor on the pitch.
