While the Red Deer College Kings Hockey team earned a strong 6-1 win on Friday evening against the Briercrest College Clippers, it was a sign of more to come on Saturday afternoon in Saskatchewan. The Kings scored early, never trailed in the contest and won by an impressive 8 goal margin.

The RDC Kings were ready to play from the opening face-off. The Kings struck twice in the first 4 minutes and continued to pressure the Clippers. After leading 6-1 over 2 periods, the RDC Kings stacked on 3 more goals in the final 20 minutes and earned an outstanding 9-1 road victory.

Chase Thudium scored a pair for the Kings while Zak Hicks, Tyrell Mappin, Dylan Thudium, Lynnden Pastachak, Scott Ferguson, Tanner Butler and Dylan Baer added singles.

Troy Trombley played well in the Kings' net and stopped 30 out of 31 Clippers' shots.

Kings Hockey Head Coach Trevor Keeper appreciated the Kings' strong and consistent effort on Saturday afternoon. "The guys really played well for all three periods. All four lines chipped in today and it was an all-around team effort," said Keeper. "We poured it on with 60 shots. Our special teams were strong. We killed off all four of their man advantages, scored on three of our power plays and added a shorthanded goal."

The Red Deer College Kings (4-2-0-0) had a very successful road trip, earned 4 out of 4 points and outscored the Briercrest College Clippers 15-2 over a pair of games. The Kings will host the MacEwan University Griffins (2-4-0-0) on Friday, November 3 at 7:00 p.m. at the Penhold Multiplex.
