RDP Queens win 7-1 in a Weekend Sweep of the Rattlers

Medicine Hat, AB - In the second game of the weekend, set the RDP Queens visited the Moose Rec Centre to tangle with the Rattlers. The first period was largely uneventful and had very few scoring chances. The biggest scoring chance was when the Queens thought they had scored a goal right at the buzzer, but it was disallowed due to the period horn going off first.

The second period was dominated by the Queens as they netted five goals in those twenty minutes. This was aided by 7 penalties taken by the Rattlers in that period which accumulated 3 powerplay goals. This number of penalties lead to the Queens putting up a staggering 24 shots in that period. The Rattlers would get on the board as they scored their first goal at home this season as Kennedy King potted her first goal of the year. After 40 minutes the game was all but decided as the Queens lead 5-1.

The third period was controlled again by the Queens as they scored another powerplay goal and another at full strength to take the game in a 7-1 final score. It was a fairly balanced attack for the Queens as 14 players had at least one point in the game. Tora Ward made 10 saves in the win while Kinlee Fahselt made 27 saves in the loss.
