Queens Top Rattlers

On a beautiful day in Medicine Hat, the Rattlers played host to the Red Deer Queens in the second game of the weekend for both teams. The Queens started out on top with a quick goal in the 5th minute by Isabel Anthony. Off a free kick 20 minutes later the Rattlers thought they had a free kick for a hand ball in the penalty area but was not given. The rest of the half was controlled mainly by the Queens but could not add to their lead.

The second half started with the Queens bringing more pressure but a penalty kick was awarded the Rattlers 10 minutes in. Rattlers 4th year forward Maisa Rebello made no mistake from the spot tying the game 1-1 in the 56th minute. The game was back and forth for most of the second half. The Rattlers had a great chance in the 75th minute when the Queens defenders gave the ball away but a couple great saves by the Red Deer keeper kept the score deadlocked. Red Deer took the lead in the 83rd minute on a shot from Anessa Harrod from the top of the penalty area. The Rattlers presses late but couldn't come up with the equalizer.

The Tiki Press Player of the Game was Isabel Anthony for the Queens and Alivia Rybchinski for the Rattlers. The Rattlers travel Ambrose next Saturday while the Queens host Augustana Saturday and travel to SAIT Sunday.
