Bio

After a playing career that included Red Deer Polytechnic and the University of Alberta, Talbot took over the successful Queens program in 2000.

Prior to 2000, Talbot coached with the University of Alberta Pandas and Golden Bears, NAVC Club, The King's University College, VA Team Alberta, Central Alberta Kings Club and the RDP Kings. During that time period he was able to be part of multiple Provincial and National Championship teams. During his time as the Queens head coach he has won over 300 ACAC matches, 2 CCAA National Championships, 4 ACAC Championships, multiple ACAC and CCAA medals, 5 ACAC Coach of the Year awards, and 1 CCAA Coach of the Year award.

Queens Volleyball relies on "work ethic, passion, team culture, and enjoying the moments". Talbot is devoted to aiding in the personal growth of the student-athlete. Developing qualities such as leadership, excellence, perseverance, and time management are essential to continued growth.

In his playing career, Talbot captured ACAC bronze medals with Red Deer Polytechnic, and a Canada West silver medal and Championship as a member of the University of Alberta Golden Bears in 1992-95. He received his Bachelor of Physical Education and his Masters of Arts degrees from the University of Alberta. He is a fully certified NCCP Advanced Performance Coach in Volleyball and Beach Volleyball. He is also a Coach Evaluator and Learning Facilitator.  Active in the community, Talbot is always striving to help young volleyball players develop a life-long love for the game.
