Queens rebound to defeat the Kodiaks in four sets

Good teams have off days, but even better teams learn and rally from their setbacks and that's exactly what the Red Deer College Queens Volleyball team did this afternoon in Lethbridge. The RDC Queens defeated the Lethbridge College Kodiaks in four sets.

The Queens dropped the opening set 21-25, then won the next three sets 25-19, 28-26 and 25-21.

In the second set alone the entire Queens team accumulated 14 kills.

Megan Schmidt led the Queens with 11 kills while Miranda Dawe contributed 8 digs. Setter, Ashley Fehr was chosen as the Queens player-of-the-game. The fourth year Bachelor of Education student had 27 assists, 1 kill and 3 digs on the afternoon.

The Queens Head Coach Chris Wandler wasn't pleased with yesterday's effort and result, but saw a significant push back today against the Kodiaks.

"I was happy to see that we rebounded well after the loss yesterday," said Wandler. "We improved in many areas today. We served the ball well and overall defended better. We limited their scoring runs this afternoon."

The Queens host the Medicine Hat College Rattlers at the RDC Main Gym Friday, Oct. 28 at 6:00 p.m., and also Saturday, Oct. 29 at 1:00 p.m.
