RDC Athlete of the Week for Sept. 24, 2018
Over the weekend, midfielder Mikayla Fujimoto was a key player for the RDC Queens, helping them to a pair of victories. The Bachelor of Education Elementary student was one of the leaders and displayed a strong work ethic in the Queens’ 5 - 0 shutout win against the Medicine Hat College Rattlers on Saturday. With speed and tenacious play, the first-year student-athlete had another strong game in the 1 - 0 home decision over the Lethbridge College Kodiaks. Mikayla’s contributions went beyond statistics as she was solid on both sides of ball, advancing the Queens’ offensive attack and breaking up the opponents’ attempts. She made significant contributions that resulted in the RDC Queens (4 -1 - 0) gaining six points and sole possession of second spot in the south standings.
