Medicine Hat, AB - The RDC Queens saved their best for the fourth quarter but couldn't climb back into the game against the Medicine Hat College Rattlers, dropping the contest 75-50 on the road.
The Rattlers came out with a strong opening half, scoring 39 points. The Queens responded with 25.
The RDC team scored 16 in the fourth, their highest of the game, but couldn't close the gap. The Medicine Hat College Rattlers finalized a 75-50 home decision.
The Queens Player-of-the-Game, Samantha Wade, nearly captured a double-double, with 10 points and nine rebounds. First-year guard Harneet Sidhu, from Surrey, contributed 11 points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal. Katie Ballhorn and Mallory Uskiw scored 7 each for the Queens.
Kendell Kuntz was selected as the Rattlers Player-of-the-Game, stacking up 25 points, seven steals and three rebounds.
Next weekend, the Red Deer College Queens will host the Lethbridge College Kodiaks in a pair of games. On Friday, January 25, the two teams will tip-off at 6:00 p.m. at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre.
