Calgary, AB - The SAIT Trojans led the RDC Queens 29-16 at the half and outscored the visitors 28-23 in the second half, earning a 57-39 home win and ending a six game losing streak.

"Physically, we have everything there that is necessary, but mentally we were lacking the last little while," said Trojans Head Coach Bir Parmar. "Today, we made some headway in that area. We still have some work to do, but thankfully, we haven't played our way out of a playoff spot yet."

The Queens had their strongest defensive quarter in the fourth, limiting the Trojans to only eight points. In three quarters, RDC held SAIT to 15 or less points.

The Red Deer College Queens were once again the stronger team on the boards. In a close rebounding battle, the Queens recorded 30 and the Trojans put up 29.

Harneet Sidhu finished with eight points, two rebounds and one block for RDC. Newcomer Rachel Osczevski had a strong outing for SAIT, recording 17 points, six rebounds, three rebounds and two steals.

Lauren Cardinal and Zeina El Barky had seven points each for the Queens.

Next weekend, the Queens will travel to Medicine Hat to take on the Rattlers in a pair of games. On Friday, January 18, the two teams will hit the hardwood at 6:00 p.m. Then on Saturday, the Rattlers will host the Queens at 1:00 p.m. The Trojans will return to action next weekend with one game against the Kodiaks on Friday in Lethbridge.
