In Saskatchewan, the RDC Kings kept the score close in each set but the Briercrest College Clippers earned the match victory Saturday afternoon. The Clippers won 25-21, 25-22 and 26-24.

Hamish Hazelden and Evan Parchomchuk had 7 kills each for RDC. Adam Turlejski contributed 6 kills from the middle. Libero Isaiah Stime, a Kinesiology & Sport Studies student from Sherwood Park, recorded 8 digs. Jacob Rapin picked up 14 assists and Thomas Wass had 12. As a team, the Kings totaled 3 service aces.

Mitchell Erickson finished with 16 kills for Briercrest College.

Kings Volleyball Head Coach Aaron Schulha liked the effort but noted a lack of finish. "Today was very similar to the last three matches. I thought that we worked very hard and picked up a lot more balls today. The Clippers executed more consistently in the last half of sets, just as they did yesterday," said Schulha "Some players seem to be struggling with their mental game and it is making the execution piece very difficult. Our backs are against the wall now, in terms of the playoff picture, so we will see how we respond."

The RDC Kings (9-9) share fourth spot with the Medicine Hat College Rattlers (9-8) in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Men's Volleyball South Division. Both teams have 18 points. SAIT (15-2) leads with 30 points and Briercrest College (13-5) holds down second spot with 26 points.

Next weekend, the Red Deer College Kings will host the Lethbridge College Kodiaks in a pair of matches. Friday, January 26, the two teams will hit the RDC Main Gym at 8:00 p.m. The Kings and Kodiaks will meet again on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
