In Calgary, William Akio scored 3 goals for the Trojans as SAIT defeated the RDC Kings 5-0 at Cohos Commons Field on Saturday afternoon. Talon Grenier was the starting RDC goalkeeper while Kyle Greenley got the nod for SAIT.

Akio opened the scoring in the 10th minute, struck again in the 35th minute and completed the hat trick in the 70th minute. Bruke Alemayhu added the other 2 Trojans' goals in the 75th and 85th minute to complete the SAIT home win.

"Last week, I felt I was struggling a bit offensively, so it was nice to get these goals today and help my team," said Akio, who was the ACAC's Men's Soccer Rookie of the Year last season.

Kings Soccer Head Coach Wade Groenewegen didn't see the finish today but had several student-athletes making positive contributions.

"Our execution was not what it has been recently. Koltan Childs played well and was named the Kings player-of-the-game. Jeremy Gopal also had a good game and put in his 1st full 90 minutes of the season," said Groenewegen. "Matthew Elphick had a good showing, coming on part way through the 1st half after Keeghan Tingley went down with an injury. We just need to find our game between now and tomorrow."

The RDC Kings (1-4-1) will face the Olds College Broncos (1-4-1) on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. on the road.
