Lac La Biche, AB - After the Red Deer College Kings spotted the Portage College Voyageurs a goal, they quickly responded and scored eight consecutive markers en route to a commanding 8-1 victory.

At 1:35 of the first period, Portage College's Taylor Anshelm beat Arik Weersink for an early edge, but the Kings turned the tide before the period was complete. Chance Longjohn, Donovan Lumb and Scott Ferguson fired pucks behind Demaine Wray for a 3-1 lead. It was Longjohn's first goal and seventh point in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC).

Parker Smyth and Tyrell Mappin added singles in the second period to propel the RDC Kings ahead 5-1.

Then in the final 20 minutes, the Kings kept their foot on the gas. Dylan Thudium, Parker Smyth and Scott Ferguson tallied, and the Kings salted away an impressive 8-1 win.

There were many contributors in the victory. Arik Weersink, a Business Adminstration student from Lethbridge, stopped 16 out of 17 Voyaguers' shots (0.941). Fourteen Kings hit the scoresheet and six RDC student-athletes finished with multiple points.

Fourth-year defenceman Dylan Baer was named the Kings Player-of-the-Game. The Electrical Engineering Technology student from Regina contributed four assists.
