Medicine Hat, AB - With similarities to the women's game, the RDC Kings took a lead in the opening quarter but the Medicine Hat College Rattlers elevated their game in the final three quarters, picking up a 103-76 win.

It was slow start offensively for both sides, leading to only 3 points in the first two minutes. Red Deer eventually found success inside and took a lead. A late three-pointer from the Kings gave them a one point edge (21-20) after the first.

The second quarter started with Red Deer making a basket on their first trip down the floor and they quickly extended their lead to five points. The Rattlers eventually clawed back, knotting the score at 36. With strong defence, the Rattlers were able to make some stops, developing a five point lead (45-40) at the half.

The third quarter opened with the Rattlers starting on a run, improving their lead to 11 but the Kings didn't cave. RDC closed the gap to seven but couldn't reduce the margin further. After three quarters, the Rattlers were up 73-60.

The start of the fourth saw the Rattlers able to score a basket early. Increasing their lead to 20, the Rattlers did not coast and eventually wrapped up a 103-76 home decision.

Eric Bakker led the Kings with 13 points. Spencer Klassen contributed 12. Anthony Harper picked up 10 points and seven rebounds for RDC.

Jusci Thompson scored 23 for the Rattlers. Kieron Burgess had a double-double, with 16 boards and 12 points.

On Saturday at 3:00 p.m., the Rattlers (9-5) will entertain the fifth place Kings (5-8) at 3:00 p.m.
