Yesterday in Saskatchewan, the RDC Kings Basketball team felt that their offence wasn't firing on all cylinders against the Briercrest College Clippers. It is safe to say that in the rematch on Saturday afternoon, it was.

The Kings outscored the Clippers 57-31 in the 1st half. RDC continued to press and scored another 50 points in the 2nd half. Briercrest College responded with 38 points and the Kings picked up a 107-69 road victory.

Ian Tevis led the RDC Kings with 36 points. The Kent, Washington native added 1 block, 6 steals, 4 assists and 10 rebounds. Several Kings hit double digits in points. Khurram Sultan had 10 points, Matt Matear contributed 11, Shayne Stumpf notched 17, Spencer Klassen picked up 10 and Anthony Robbs accumulated 12.

Kings Basketball Head Coach Clayton Pottinger was happy with the effort and energy.

"We shot well from 3, defended much better today and did a good job of containing their top shooters," said Pottinger. "We made a few adjustments and reduced the amount of quality opportunities for their offence."

As a team, the Kings hit 11-of-27 (40.7%) of their 3 point attempts. The Clippers hit 3-of-20 (15%) shots from behind the 3 point arch.

Shayne Stumpf was named the Kings player-of-the-game. The Management Certificate student contributed 17 points, 5 assists and 9 rebounds.

With the win, the Red Deer College Kings (11-6) improve to 22 points in the ACAC Men's Basketball South Division and currently share 2nd spot with SAIT and Medicine Hat College. Lethbridge College (12-3) leads the division with 24 points.
