Great opening day at ACAC Curling Championships

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Curling Championships kicked off in Camrose on Friday and all three Red Deer College Curling teams picked up important wins. 

The Kings had a great opening day. At 12:00 p.m., the RDC Kings defeated the NAIT Ooks 8-2 in convincing fashion. At 4:00 p.m., the Kings won 3-1 over the host University of Alberta Augustana Vikings to push their record to 2-0. 

The Queens played very well on Friday at Rose City Curling Club. The Red Deer College Queens downed the NAIT Ooks 7-3 at 12:00 p.m. and then picked up a solid 6-1 victory over Concordia University. The Queens also finished with an unblemished 2-0 record. 

The RDC Mixed Curling team split their games on Friday. At 12:00 p.m., they dominated NAIT with an 11-2 win and then dropped a 7-1 decision to MacEwan University at 4:00 p.m.

All three RDC Curling teams are in action Saturday at 9:00 a.m. The RDC Kings will compete against Concordia University, the Queens will face MacEwan University and the RDC Mixed Curling team will be up against Portage College.
