All three RDC Curling teams qualify for ACAC championships

After the final stone was thrown at the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Curling Winter Regional, all three RDC Curling teams sealed a spot in the ACAC Curling Championships in February.
The RDC Kings and Queens had the luxury of already locking up their spots to the curling championships prior to Sunday's competition.
At 8:30 a.m., the Kings dropped a 7-0 decision to Concordia University of Edmonton. The RDC Kings finished 3-2 over the weekend for a combined record of 8-2 at the Fall and Winter Regionals. The Red Deer College Kings and Concordia University of Edmonton tied for top spot.
The Queens were defeated 5-3 by the University of Alberta Augustana Vikings in the morning draw. At 12:00 p.m., the RDC Queens downed Concordia University of Edmonton 6-5. Over the weekend, the Queens went 5-1 and finished third overall in the standings with an 8-4 combined record.
The Red Deer College Mixed Curling team needed a big win Sunday morning against Portage College and they delivered with a convincing 10-3 win to earn their way to the championships. The mixed team recorded 3 wins and 2 losses this past weekend and finished 5-5 overall which was good for fourth.
Red Deer College Curling Head Coach Brad Hamilton saw some strong play this past weekend at Avonair Curling Club. "The mixed team played three of their best games of the year to finish with three straight wins to clinch a spot at provincials," said Hamilton. "The Kings weren't as sharp as the Fall Regional but still finished with a winning record and a tie for first. The Queens played great and showed they are right there with the other teams heading to provincials."
The Red Deer College Curling teams will shift their focus to the ACAC Curling Championships, February 16 to 18, at Rose City Curling Club in Camrose.
