RDC Curling teams open strongly at the ACAC Winter Regional

On Friday, it was a strong opening day at the ACAC Curling Winter Regional for all of the RDC Curling teams. The NAIT Ooks are hosting the Regional at the Avonair Curling Club in Edmonton.

At 4:30, the Red Deer College Men's Curling team defeated the University of Alberta (Augustana Campus) 5-2. The RDC men then won 5-1 over NAIT at 8:00 p.m. to push their record to 2-0 on the 1st day of competition.

The Red Deer College Women's Curling team defeated MacEwan University 6-5 at 4:30 p.m.

At 4:30 p.m., the RDC Mixed Curling team picked up a 6-1 victory over NAIT. Concordia University of Edmonton defeated the RDC team 8-3 at 8:00 p.m.

With a collective result of 4-1, RDC Curling Head Coach Brad Hamilton was pleased with the 1st day.

"It was a good start for all of the Red Deer College Curling teams," said Hamilton. "All of the RDC teams picked up important wins."

Day 2 begins at 9:00 am on Saturday for all 3 of the RDC Curling teams.
