Hills and Kings complete rally over Rattlers

Medicine Hat, AB - The Red Deer College Kings didn't have the start they wanted against the Rattlers in Medicine Hat, but once they found their rhythm, they couldn't be stopped. The Kings went down a pair of sets, but dug in, taking the next three sets and earning the match victory (23-25, 22-25, 25-20, 28-26 and 15-10).

First-year outside hitter Carter Hills broke out with a dominant performance. The Bachelor of Education Science student pounded 27 kills, adding five digs, one stuff block, one assist and one ace. Hills was named the Kings Player-of-the-Game.

Red Deer's Ben Holmes contributed 17 kills, six digs and one stuff. Middle Mark DeWit had nine kills. Setter Thomas Wass totaled 54 assists, eight digs, two kills, two aces and two stuffs.

Four Rattlers hit double digits in kills. KeAndre Evans (16) led the way. Dexter Mackie followed with 13. Jonas Enns (12) and Aleksa Zivic (11) rounded out the top offensive performances for the home team.

The Kings had four service aces.

RDC (6-1) shares second spot in the south with Lethbridge College (6-1). SAIT (8-1) leads the division, but has also played two more matches.

The Kings and Rattlers (1-8) will face each other on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in Medicine Hat.
