Queens' energetic rally attempt falls just short in Saskatchewan

Caronport, SK - The Red Deer College Queens were within two points (38-40) at the half and saved their best for last, outscoring the Briercrest College Clippers by 12 in the fourth (23-11), but dropped a close 75-71 road decision.

Zeina El Barky was the Queens' most explosive offensive weapon, scoring 15 points. The first-year forward from Cairo, Egypt added three rebounds and two assists, and hit three out of four from beyond the arc. Harneet Sidhu also hit double-digits, contributing 13 points, four rebounds, four assists and one steal. The first-year guard from Surrey connected on six out of eighteen from the field.

The RDC Queens finished with 39 rebounds and were solid from the free-throw line, connecting on 77.8 per cent of their attempts.

Tracy Lewis led the Clippers with 16 points. Hope Jordens and Adrianna Black had 12 each. 

Zeina El Barky and Victoria Voth were recognized as the top performers on their teams. Voth had nine points, four rebounds and four steals for the hosts. 

On Saturday, February 23, the RDC Queens and Briercrest College Clippers will meet at 1:00 p.m. as the Queens wrap up their season.
