Wass and Kings capture match in Medicine Hat

Medicine Hat, AB - The Red Deer College Kings were looking for a bounce-back performance Saturday afternoon against the Medicine Hat College Rattlers, and they got what they wanted, sweeping the host Rattlers (25-22, 25-18 and 25-20).

Regan Fathers was a force, knocking down 17 kills for the Kings. Ben Holmes had nine and Marcus Roflik contributed eight in the win. Setter Thomas Wass had good statistics for only playing three sets. The second-year from Adelaide, Australia totaled 32 assists, six digs, three aces and one kill, earning the Kings Player-of-the-Game award.

Dexter Mackie earned the honour for the Rattlers, accumulating five kills, three stuffs and one dig. 

The Kings (15-5) remain in second spot in the south standings, six points behind the first place Lethbridge College Kodiaks (18-0) and six points up on the SAIT Trojans (12-6).

On Friday, February 1, the RDC Kings will host the SAIT Trojans at 8:00 p.m. at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre.
