Basketball Kings over Lions by 13

While the ACAC Men's Basketball South Division playoff teams have been decided, the order has not. It was the RDC Kings' final regular season road game on Friday in Calgary. The Red Deer College Kings hit the hardwood to face the Ambrose University Lions. Despite not shooting as strongly as they can, the Kings rolled to a 99-86 victory.

The Kings opened the 1st half with a 46-42 advantage. Outscoring the Lions 53-44 in the 2nd half, the RDC Kings picked up a 99-86 road win. 

Ian Tevis led the Kings with 24 points. The Kinesiology and Sport Studies student added 2 blocks, 2 steals, 1 assist, 13 rebounds and was named the Kings player-of-the-game.

Kings Basketball Head Coach Clayton Pottinger was pleased with the result, despite lower than usual 3 point and free throw percentages.

"I was happy that we were still able to produce without shooting particularly well," said Pottinger. "We had good production with 99 points considering we only hit 24% of our 3 point attempts and 65% from the free throw line."

With the win, the Kings (14-6) move into a 2nd place tie with the SAIT Trojans (14-4) with 28 points. Both teams trail 1st place Medicine Hat College by 2 points in the standings. Lethbridge College has 24 points which places them 4th. The Rattlers, Trojans and Kodiaks have 2 games in hand over the Kings and all 4 teams will make the playoffs. 

Saturday at 8:00 p.m., the RDC Kings host the Ambrose University Lions.
