Kings and Queens pick up wins on day one at Winter Regional, mixed team looks to rebound

Edmonton, AB - Day one at the Winter Regional wrapped up on Friday at Avonair Curling Club and the RDC Kings and Queens earned wins.
At 7:00 p.m., the RDC Kings defeated the University of Alberta Augustana Vikings 6-3 to finish with an unblemished 1-0 record. Next, the Kings will hit the ice at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday against the Concordia University Thunder.

The Queens finished an even 1-1 on the day. They convincingly downed the Olds College Broncos 6-1 at 3:30 p.m. and then were edged 6-4 by the MacEwan University Griffins in the evening draw. At 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, the Queens will battle with the NAIT Ooks to kick off the second day of competition.

The RDC Mixed Curling team dropped a tight 5-3 contest to the Vikings and will look to rebound with a victory on Saturday against the Olds College Broncos at 9:00 a.m.
