RDC men sit in 1st, women pick up 2 wins at curling nationals on day 2

Day 2 wrapped up at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Curling National Championships in Camrose on Thursday, and both RDC curling teams picked up victories. The men's team went a perfect 3-0 while the women's squad picked up 2 wins and only dropped 1.

At 9:00 a.m., the Red Deer College Men's Curling team defeated the Humber Hawks 7-6. On sheet 8, the RDC women downed the Hawks 5-4.

Both RDC curling teams competed against the Fanshawe Falcons in the 2:00 p.m. draw. The RDC Kings picked up a 5-4 win while the Falcons defeated the Queens 6-2. 

At 7:00 p.m., the RDC Men's Curling team downed the Lakeland Rustlers 5-3. After 2 days at the championships, the RDC Kings sit in top spot with an impressive 4-1 record. Meanwhile, the RDC women added another win after they defeated the Niagara Knights in a dominating 7-2 performance and bumped their record to 2-3. 

Friday will be an important day for all of the teams as they jockey for a playoff position. At 9:00 a.m., the RDC Queens will face the Augustana Vikings while the RDC Kings will compete against the NAIT Ooks. The RDC men's team will hit the ice against the Mohawk Mountaineers at 2:00 p.m. while on sheet 7 the Red Deer College Women's Curling team will meet the Lakeland Rustlers.
