The afternoon contest remained scoreless well into the first half, until Queens second-year forward Alisha Coules tallied. The Bachelor of Science Nursing student solved Lions goalkeeper Janelle Reimer in the 36th minute. Bailey Richarde, a second-year forward from Grande Prairie, set up the opening marker. Nearly seven minutes later, Coules struck again and the visitors held a 2-0 edge heading into the half.

The RDC Queens went up by three about 27 minutes into the second half. Once again, Alisha Coules and Bailey Richarde connected on the goal, but this time the roles were reversed. In the 72nd minute, Bailey Richarde converted a set-up from Alisha Coules past Reimer, and the Queens controlled the game 3-0.
